Background

A “story” so execrable as to be undeserving of refutation. Every journalist and commentator participating in it debased themselves.

Donald Trump’s full remarks (campaign event with Tucker Carlson, Glendale Arizona, Oct. 31 2024):

“She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let’s see how she feels about it, you know, when the guns are trained on her face. You know they’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying ‘oh gee we’ll—let’s send 10,000 troops right into the mouth of the enemy’”.

Lowlights: Jonah Goldberg, who couldn’t even make an honorable retraction of his comments (see image gallery). And Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, thinking they were being clever by peddling an appalling lie under the guise of “re-reporting” the Drudge Report’s publication of it. Scarborough, true to form, eventually found even that constraint too restrictive. He would liberate himself from it soon enough in order to pollute the airwaves with a cascade of lies of his own.
